Church on Sunday, work M-F, mow the grass on Saturday, hang with the kids, church on Sunday, work M-F, yada, yada, yada. Is that the only reason His resurrection power dwells within us? We are called to fight for the heart of the King and for the heart of humanity. Those who choose to do so, who choose to live an uncivilized life for Christ, possess 3 qualities. They are hearing, fearing, and endearing people.
-
1. Hearing - Anyone who chooses to listen to the voice of God and obey it runs the risk of being labeled a lunatic by those who are deaf to His voice. The ability to hear His voice is available to every believer, but it is developed by us through intimacy with Him. We determine to move, speak, and act only as He directs.
-
2.Fearing - Hearing is one thing, but obeying is an entirely different issue. The uncivilized have overcome the trap of the fear of man, and are motivated by an awe and respect for the Most High. Obedience simply becomes a natural outflow of affection for Him.
-
3.Endearing - Motivated by their great love for the King, as well as their compassion for others, the ranks of the uncivilized are not afraid or unwilling to get involved in the lives of others. When we domesticate our faith, we begin to digress into apathy and self-centeredness.
Love and sacrifice cannot be separated, as we see in the life of Christ. Living the uncivilized life is costly, but when one counts the cost, he or she realizes that the reward of fulfilling purpose is far greater.
